Alex Feldman started playing drums in bands at the age of 13. He began studying privately with Bay Area drum master Chuck Brown at the age of 18, and proceeded to refine his technique and delve deeper into funk, latin, swing, and rhythm and blues. He concurrently earned a music degree from UC Santa Cruz. Post college, he did recordings and performed live locally and nationally.
Since moving to New York in 2012, He has studied with Carl Allen, Matt Johnson, Dan Weiss, and Kenny Washington. He has performed at rock and jazz venues throughout NYC. During 2017 he toured the US and Europe with the beloved indie-surf band The Drums. The 60+ date tour included performances at festivals such as Lollapalooza, FYF, and Corona Capital, as well as sold out shows at the Henry Fonda Theatre and the Fillmore. In 2018 he acted as music director and drummer for the Poetry Brothel, and immersive theatre series that blends poetry, burlesque, and jazz. Fellow performers included Kelly Green, Nitai Hershkovitz, Lucy Yeghiazaryan, David Ambrosio, and Jaqueline West.
